Conservatives and New Orleans
Pandagon has a cute inflammatory summary of the conservative position on the New Orleans disaster. It’s true, however, that the American conservative lobbies have been spreading the lie that the New Orleans authorities didn’t ask for help beforehand, and the conservative talkback radio is talking up the welfare cheat line. Apparently New Orleans was full of criminals who will be spreading their evil influences to the rest of the country.
