But it was overcast and sprinkling when I left Coffs. Sometime during the night it bucketed down (and apparently did in Grafton too)Â and the road was wet all the way to Coramba.
The climb out of Coffs was hard again. Flicking through all the data fields on the edge, I noticed that there was a stretch of 11%Â gradient and my heart rate was up to 185 before I called it quits and walked the last 100 metres.
After Nana Glen, the road dried out. I reached Glenreagh by about 9:30 for lunch, and the temperature had soared from 21 to mid-30s by the time I was on the road again. It reached 40, but was only low 30s off the road.
I reached Grafton at about 1:30 and it’s been alternately sunny and overcast but always hot and muggy. Hopefully tomorrow will be cooler but I doubt it.
