It was a dark and stormy night.

The storm was several days before we met,
and fades into a murky past made darker by
the present brilliance of your eyes.)

Something’s wrong.
I’m generally not this clumsy
with my words. Why do I have a
sudden urge to find a tree to hide behind,
and gaze at you from safety, there?)

Charlie Brown knew it.
Love makes you do strange things.
We’re both on the wrong side of the tree
and our hearts exposed to all.

At least your hair’s not red

Will you answer if I call,
and pass the time of day with me?
