I was on my commute home from work today, and stopped in the left lane at an intersection when the light went red. Then a green left arrow came on and a pedestrian gestured to the car behind me and said “he wants to turn left”. I told him “so what? are you just saying that because I’m a cyclist?”, to which he responded that he’d been a cyclist for 20 years (as if that’s of any relevance).
When I then asked if he’d tell a car driver or any other road user to get out of the way for a driver wanting to turn left, he blanked me and then walked away as soon as he saw his walk sign come up. We’re damned for following road rules and damned (rightly) for breaking them 🙁
