The missing emails

This story deserves more traction…

Greg Palast has again been part of uncovering more about the skullduggery in the White House. It turns out that Rove and company are bad typers and mis-sent 500 or so emails to an address at georgewbush.org instead of georgewbush.com. These emails were then sent on to Palast who has reported on them. Unfortunately the story has been largely ignored in the US.

In a nutshell, one of the attorneys who was fired (and who was the basis for the military lawyer in A Few Good Men) was asked to prosecute a Democratic candidate as part of a mud-slinging exercise in a close electoral campaign in New Mexico. The attorney, Iglesias, says that there was no discernable basis to the allegations and no reason to prosecute, but that he was pressured to act but didn’t. Now he’s been sacked.
