I’m writing this from Coffs Harbour, on the start of this year’s Christmas holidays. Instead of having to wander around town looking for an open wireless AP, there’s an Optus connection in the motel room.
Tomorrow, I’m on the road to Grafton, followed by Casino and Uki. I probably won’t be able to get online in the next few days, so the next update may likely be from Wilson’s Creek at the end of the ride.
Hurray for modern motels!
well, the motel has (as do many) free wireless broadband. What I’m using is different. Coffs also has a growing community access wireless network, but I think that is only available around some of the coastal areas.
Happy riding tomorrow.
Thanks for the message on the answering machine (luckily, M was able to translate it for me). We were in Bruns having dinner. Back on the horse again, and it wasn’t really very difficult, although M said she was on edge. Nice to have some fresh snapper again.
So you’re not using the motel’s free wireless broadband? What are you using?
I’m using an open AP labelled Optus
Ah, I see. Not necessarily the motel’s. =^)
So, I’m curious, why not use the motel’s free broadband?
because I turned on the n800, saw the Optus one, it worked, and I didn’t have to go and negotiate the wireless ADSL from the motel, even if that would have worked on a non-windows computer.
