The MS Society announced that they’re open for business on the ‘Gong for 2009. This year, there are some changes in the way it’s run – 10,000 places and participants have to pledge to try and raise $200 each. They obviously felt that last year’s melee was, well…, a melee and they should therefore take mild steps to try and encourage people to be more active in fundraising, with the side-effect of discouraging the less serious entrants.
They’ve also disallowed entry on the day, and are going to separate teams and individual start locations within Sydney Park. Also, they have a “no-bib, no entry” rule in place for the Royal in the name of safety.
I’ve entered for the 90km route, with lunch in the Royal, and have created a team, if anyone (Danya?) wants to join. Here is my sponsorship page, or you can go directly to Team Rose. All donations will be gratefully received, no matter how small. Rmember that anything over $2.00 is tax deductable.
